Life at BME

The close-knit family that forms the biomedical engineering program at Johns Hopkins creates a rare environment that encourages collaboration and collegiality. Both the Department and the University offer a broad range of social and cultural activities, recreational and athletic facilities and opportunities to exchange information and ideas.

Our department is housed within the Whiting School of Engineering and the School of Medicine, which means it is split between two main campuses. The Homewood campus is home to most Johns Hopkins undergraduates and the Whiting School of Engineering. The East Baltimore campus houses the School of Medicine and the world-renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital. Faculty and students can quickly and easily travel between the two campuses using the Blue Jay shuttle.
