The Optical Society of America (OSA) elected Xingde Li a Fellow of the Society at its October 18th 2011 meeting in San Jose, California. Dr. Li is being recognized for innovative contributions to biomedical optics, especially in endomicroscopy and nanophotonics technologies, enabling translational high-resolution and molecular imaging.
Fellows are OSA members who have served with distinction in the advancement of optics. This honor is given to no more than 10 percent of the total membership.
The Optical Society was organized to increase and diffuse the knowledge of optics, pure and applied; to promote the common interests of investigators of optical problems, of designers and of users of optical apparatus of all kinds; and to encourage cooperation among them. OSA’s membership totals more than 16,000 individuals from over 100 countries.
